Now Emma had an earache,
It hurt the whole night through.
Since Burt had an appointment,
She knew what she would do.
She joined him at the clinic-
Specialists they were.
She told the doctor of her pain
“Oh would you help me sir?”
He peered and poked and prodded
and sent her for a test.
When she came back she had to wait,
He had another “quest.”
She waited and she waited,
For almost half an hour.
A prescription then he gave you
To read it made her glower.
Then she could not believe
what next that she did hear.
As bluntly this he told her;
“You have arthritis in your ear.”
