It saddens me to see you go,

You’ll leave an empty space.

I know that I’ll miss seeing you;

Your cheerful, smiling face.

I’ve depended on your spirit

And leaned upon your strength.

I’ve admired and looked up to you,

Regarded you at length.

You’ve been so very generous

As you coached and guided me.

You’ve put up with my nonsense

And still been sweet to me.

I thank you now for all you’ve done

To help me this past year.

It’s going to be quite different

Without your presence here.

I hope I’ll see you often

And hear your days are great;

That you’re doing something wonderful

And life is quite first rate!
